The Bayard Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is committed to serving the Bayard area community with the highest level of life and property protection. We will achieve this by providing excellent and compassionate service in an atmosphere that encourages innovation, professional development and diversity.


A new law that went into effect on August 27, 2011 regarding burn permits, now makes it mandatory that the fire department issue the permit instead of the City Office. To receive a 30 day burn permit in the Bayard area please contact Mike Harimon or Butch Duncan prior to the day of burning. Each permit will be issued if certain requirements are met that are designated in the state statutes.
